20 Anti-Aging Herbs and Spices to Add to Your Diet Now

Aging is inevitable; however, there are many herbs and spices that can support overall health and may leave you feeling younger than your years, according to Dr. Eric Braverman.
Among other things, the holidays are a time of national dysnutrition: the disease of excess. Dysnutrition happens even in the most developed countries when food is plentiful but the overall diet is based on eating all the wrong balance of foods. Sound familiar? The typical American diet that is high in simple carbohydrates -- white flour, white salt, and processed food -- is aging us. We are getting all the bulk without the nutrients, plus adding to our propensity for developing real food cravings. So whether you are a vegetarian or an omnivore, you can start to reverse aging by simply choosing to eat the right foods to keep you full of vim, vigor, and vitality, especially over the holidays.

The easiest way to make sure you are getting more nutrients into every meal, even when you are grazing at the office cocktail party or the neighborhood potluck dinner is by choosing foods that are loaded with spices. Every time you flavor your meals with herbs or spices you are literally "upgrading" your food without adding a single calorie. You are taking something ordinary and turning it into something extraordinary by adding color, flavor, vitamins, and often medicinal properties. Here's why: Read more

H1N1 Swine Flu Hoax Falls Apart at the Seams

Remember the swine flu hysteria created by the government and corporate-controlled media? Remember the "national health emergency" declared by Barack Obama? Even establishment doctors are now calling the whole episode a hoax.
The great swine flu hoax of 2009 is now falling apart at the seams as one country after another unloads hundreds of millions of doses of unused swine flu vaccines. No informed person wants the injection anymore, and the entire fear-based campaign to promote the vaccines has now been exposed as outright quackery and propaganda.

Even doctors are now calling the pandemic a complete hoax. As reported on FoxNews, Dr. Wolfgang Wodarg, a leading health authority in Europe, says that drug companies"organized a 'campaign of panic' to put pressure on the World Health Organization (WHO) to declare a pandemic. He believes it is 'one of the greatest medicine scandals of the century,' and he has called for an inquiry." Read more

Iodine for Health

Iodine is not commonly taken as a dietary supplement, but people who do take iodine supplements report that they have a greater sense of well-being, increased energy, and a lifting of brain fog. They feel warmer in cold environments, need somewhat less sleep, improved skin complexion, and have more regular bowel movements.
There is growing evidence that Americans would have better health and a lower incidence of cancer and fibrocystic disease of the breast if they consumed more iodine. A decrease in iodine intake coupled with an increased consumption of competing halogens, fluoride and bromide, has created an epidemic of iodine deficiency in America.

People in the U.S. consume an average 240 micrograms (µg) of iodine a day. In contrast, people in Japan consume more than 12 milligrams (mg) of iodine a day (12,000 µg), a 50-fold greater amount. They eat seaweed, which include brown algae (kelp), red algae (nori sheets, with sushi), and green algae (chlorella). Read more

Why Expensive Running Shoes Could Be Worse Than Useless

I've posted on this topic before, but it's worth repeating: runners, of whom 90 percent suffer injuries every year, would be better off leaving their expensive running shoes at home, and running barefoot.
Science and sceptical runners are catching up with something the Tarahumara Indians have known for ever: your naked feet are fine on their own. According to a growing body of clinical research, those expensive running shoes you've been relying on may be worse than useless: they could be causing the very injuries they're supposed to prevent.

Perhaps the best research in the field has been going on for hundreds of years in a maze of canyons in northern Mexico. There, the reclusive Tarahumara tribe routinely engage in races of 150 miles or more, the equivalent of running the London Marathon six times in the same day. Despite this extreme mileage, as I learnt during several treks into the canyons, the Tarahumara are somehow immune to the injuries that plague the rest of the running world. Read more

How to Sleep Better, Lose Weight, and Live Longer

Did you know that sleep deprivation makes you fat? Dr. Mark Hyman gives tips to help you to not only sleep better, but also lose weight and live longer.
You can lose weight without changing what you eat or doing one minute of exercise! It's a bold claim. And don't get me wrong: Nutrition and exercise are important! But there's another key to weight loss -- and most people don't even know about it. It's sleep.

In fact, besides eating whole foods and moving your body, getting enough sleep is the most important thing you can do for your health. On the flip side, sleep deprivation makes you fat -- AND leads to depression, pain, heart disease, diabetes, and much more. Read more

Cellphones May Protect Brain from Alzheimer's

Alzheimer's disease may be eliminated by the time today's teenagers reach old age. New research suggests that cellphones may protect the brain from Alzheimer's.
A study in mice suggests using cellphones may help prevent some of the brain-wasting effects of Alzheimer's disease, U.S. researchers said on Wednesday.

After long-term exposure to electromagnetic waves such as those used in cell phones, mice genetically altered to develop Alzheimer's performed as well on memory and thinking skill tests as healthy mice, the researchers wrote in the Journal of Alzheimer's Disease.

The results were a major surprise and open the possibility of developing a noninvasive, drug-free treatment for Alzheimer's, said lead author Gary Arendash of the University of South Florida. Read more

Homeopathy: The Health Principle the AMA Hates

The American Medical Association (AMA), later funded by pharmaceutical companies, launched an all-out war against homeopathy, which is based upon the principle of similarity. What is it this health principle that doctors hate so much?
Homeopathy is an alternative medicine which is based upon the use of similarity principle.

The founder of homeopathy Dr. Samuel Hahnemann formulated the principle and stated that the symptoms of an ill person can be cured with the help of a substance which produces similar symptoms in a healthy person.

It is similar to the principles of Hippocrates and Paracelsus. Hahnemann and his followers had undertaken extensive study and conducted experiments on themselves. They then painstakingly recorded the results to prove the principle of similarity. Read more

Incredible Edibles: The 20 Superfoods That Can Improve Your Well-Being.

Most of us know that avocado, blueberries, and broccoli are packed with nutrients, but there are many other lesser-known superfoods that we should become acquainted with, says nutritionist Glen Matten.
1 Leeks for digestion
Judging by the TV ads, I guess you know about probiotics – ‘friendly’ bacteria – already. You probably know less about prebiotics, the fibre that stimulates the good bugs. Leeks contain prebiotics in abundance, which spells happy days for digestive health and may even enhance the immune system.
Other prebiotic foods: Bananas, asparagus, artichokes, onions Read more
